ABOUT THE JOB

The Director of Global Marketing is responsible for the development and execution of global product launches and supporting marketing programs. This position collaborates directly with local markets while interfacing with industry thought leaders, sales, operations, R&D, US marketing, creative, and technical packaging to accomplish global brand objectives.

REPORTING

The Director of Global Marketing reports to the VP of Global Marketing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for new product development:
    • Create new product concepts and lab briefs
    • Interact with creative and market research agencies to develop concept designs
    • Ensure timetables are met to meet launch deadlines
    • Develop launch support strategies
    • Lead product packaging and launch communication process (start to finish)
    • Review packaging profiles for accuracy, advise changes, and review COGS
    • Perform value analysis studies to optimize the cost of goods approach
    • Develop global forecasts for launch items
    • Coordinate focus groups and market research for new products and markets
  • Interface with key geographic markets to determine the range of values that drive the industry and better understand the impact of market trends and activity on relevant brand issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team in development of brand strategies for new product introductions, promotions, communications and inventory management
    • Two to four new product launches per year
    • Quarterly product/business-building promotions customized by market (US, EU, Asia, etc)
    • Occasional product reformulations or upgrades
    • Professional and retail channel development and support activities including merchandising, promotion, marketing communication, and training
    • Packaging and collateral updates and additions
  • Lead projects from initial concept to implementation, and coordinate the teamwork between the participating departments
    • Develop project timelines and budgets
    • Target primary audiences and develop key messaging
    • Work with key vendors and departments to ensure accurate execution of programs
  • Follow up on campaigns and launches, and provide Senior Management team with regular quantitative and qualitative reports

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or related field required, MBA a plus
  • 3 – 5 years marketing management required — ideal candidate should have relevant experience in skincare, professionally dispensed products, and/or international brand marketing. Pharmaceutical or medical marketing experience considered.
  • Good understanding of design and printing process is a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills a must
  • Dynamic, and proactive personality with the ability to perform impactful presentations
  • Proven expertise in problem solving and project management
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Good organization and prioritization skills required
