ABOUT THE JOB

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for the electronics content of Clarisonic products and associated test equipment. This R&D position involves managing and guiding electronics design and development work, as well as planning for the growth of PBL’s electronic expertise and employees.

Project responsibilities include new device design support including: electronics design, technology integration, electronics content sourcing, product evaluation, cost reduction activities, test equipment support, product documentation and project management.

Growth planning includes strategic, operational and budgeting plans as needed to develop a diversified and talented group as well as to provide job and career growth opportunities to employees.

REPORTING

The Electrical Engineering Manager reports to the Director of Device Development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Electrical Design – Provide primary design input for new and existing products. This includes product research, evaluation of design options, detailed design and full development of cost effective solutions to a variety of engineering problems or activities.
  • Project Management – Oversee the planning and coordination of all aspects of a variety of design activities from conceptualization to product release with schedule responsibility, as well as responsibility for follow-on cost and quality performance.
  • Management – Responsible for group performance, budgets, growth and personnel.
  • Manufacturing Support – Oversee appropriate levels of group support to manufacturing issues related to electronics design and testing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics design, preferably electromechanical systems with digital or related hardware and embedded SW (FW) content.
  • 5+ years of recent people management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with product life cycle management in a high volume environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading fast-paced technical teams, within a positive environment.
  • Experience with consumer electronics market and products.
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional program teams, as well as Original Design & Manufacturing (ODM) engineering teams.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly to others using a variety of presentation media.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
