About the Job

The ERP Administrator’s role is to supervise and operate the organization’s ERP systems through implementation best practices. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company’s investments in the chose ERP technologies. The ERP Administrator is also responsible for planning and coordinating the change management of processes required for the support of ERP systems necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to solve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical ERP software.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Planning

  • Ensure that ERP software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues.
  • Utilize the organization’s change management process across all affected areas.
  • Ensure that ERP deployment enhances operating systems, networks, telecommunications, or other areas where it is deployed.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Recommend any additional hardware or software requirements needed for successful ERP deployments, configuration, or maintenance.
  • Assist with contracts negotiations with ERP software and service providers as needed.
  • Liaise with company’s ERP suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
  • Evaluate proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.

Operational Management

  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy ERP applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of ERP software programs and applications.
  • Ensure that any ERP integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the ERP system; install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
  • Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports for presentation to the executive management team.
  • Provide direction for the application team in support of ERP operations.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for ERP products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
  • Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with design specifications, program logic, and data conversions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration, and/or 8 years equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications in ERP systems administration, general systems administration or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge & Experience

  • At least 5 years direct experience administrating ERP applications.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of ERP software solutions.
  • Technically fluent in relational database administration, including MSSQL, Oracle or similar large-scale relational databases.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level applications, including CRM, data warehouses, etc.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer and peripherals.
  • Able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Some travel may be required for the purpose of off-site installations and configuration.
