Clarisonic sonic cleansing effectively removes makeup

Study Objective:

Evaluate the efficacy of Clarisonic sonic cleansing to remove makeup, as compared to manual cleansing

Methodology:

• 10 people participated in the study
• In a split-forehead study, equal amounts of fluorescent makeup were placed on the forehead of each subject
• An aesthetician cleansed half of the forehead with Clarisonic sonic cleansing and the other half by hand with water
• Photos were taken using a digital camera with a UV flash to show the amount of fluorescent makeup remaining on both sides of the forehead
• Image analysis software was used to quantify differences between treatments

Results:

• Manual cleansing leaves makeup trapped in fine lines and pores
